In short: training can start as soon as your puppy arrives, usually around 2 months old. The Classic / Puppy package includes a free behavioural assessment and 7 home sessions for €590, valid for one year. The method is positive, with no force, and nothing replaces the assessment for tailoring advice to your puppy.
Why start training as soon as your puppy arrives?
The first weeks at home are a key period: your puppy discovers its reference points, learns very quickly and sets habits. Starting early lays solid foundations and prevents future unwanted behaviours, instead of correcting them later. It is never too early to start gently, and never too late to improve.
My approach is positive: we reward what the puppy does well, give clear reference points and avoid any force or harshness. Sessions take place at your home in Antibes, Biot or Valbonne, in the environment where your puppy lives.
The questions that come up most with puppies
It mouths everything
Mouthing is normal at this age: your puppy explores with its mouth. Offer suitable toys, stay calm, and stop the game for a few seconds when teeth touch skin before resuming. Avoid scolding or shouting. If it continues, an assessment helps understand what excites it.
House training
Take your puppy out often, especially after meals, naps and play, and reward it straight away when it goes outside. Accidents happen: just clean up, without punishing. Regularity matters more than strictness, and every puppy goes at its own pace.
Socialisation
It means letting your puppy discover the world gently: sounds, people, surfaces, cars, and carefully chosen dogs. Never force it: one calm, positive meeting is worth more than ten it endures. For outings and contact with other dogs, ask your vet for advice according to your puppy's vaccination schedule.
Being left alone
Get your puppy used to very short absences, then lengthen them bit by bit, in a quiet room with something to do. Keep departures and returns low-key. If your puppy cries a lot or seems distressed, let's talk: it is better to act early.
Lead walking and recall
Link the lead and its name with pleasant moments: treats, play, cuddles. Go in small steps, in quiet places, before moving on to busier areas. This work builds up over several weeks.
Nothing replaces a behavioural assessment. This advice is general and cautious: each puppy has its own temperament, history and environment. For any health, feeding or vaccination question, speak to your vet.
Your first week with a puppy: 5 simple points
- A quiet spot of its own (basket, bed) where it can rest undisturbed: puppies sleep a lot.
- Regular times for meals, outings and naps.
- The same instructions from every member of the family.
- Short, varied play, with chew toys within reach.
- A first visit to the vet to check health and vaccinations.

Frequently asked questions
When should I start training a puppy?
Training can start as soon as your puppy arrives at home, usually around 2 months old. It is a key period when puppies learn very quickly. The earlier you begin, the better you prevent future problems, using gentle, positive methods.
My puppy bites: is that normal?
Yes, mouthing is normal for a puppy exploring its world. Offer toys, stay calm and pause the game for a few seconds when teeth touch skin. Avoid scolding. If bites are hard or frequent, a behavioural assessment helps work out what triggers them.
How much does puppy training cost in Antibes, Biot or Valbonne?
The Classic / Puppy package includes 7 home sessions and a free assessment for €590, valid for one year. Individually, a session costs €80 and the assessment €130. The Mini package (5 sessions) is €490. Payment is made in one go.
When can my puppy meet other dogs?
It depends on its vaccination schedule, so ask your vet before the first outings. After that, favour calm meetings with balanced, familiar dogs, and never force it. I can help you organise these first socialisation experiences.
How many sessions does a puppy need?
It depends on the puppy, its temperament and how regularly you practise. The 7-session package suits many situations, and I give you a personalised estimate after the assessment. There is no guaranteed duration: every puppy goes at its own pace.
