Frequently asked questions
How much does a dog trainer cost in Antibes?
A single session costs €80 (about 1 hour) and the behavioural assessment at home costs €130 (about 2 hours). Packages start at €490 for 5 sessions, with the assessment included, and go up to €990 for 15 sessions. Payment is made in one go at booking. Dog trainer in Antibes · Biot · Valbonne.
At what age can you start training a dog?
Training can start as soon as the puppy arrives home, usually at around 2 months old. It is a key stage of development, when a puppy learns very quickly. The earlier you start, the more future problems you prevent.
Where do the training sessions take place?
Sessions mostly take place at your home and outdoors, in the dog's real environment. This lets us work directly on everyday situations, right where the behaviours appear.
How many sessions does it take to train a dog?
It depends on the dog, the problem you are facing and how involved the owner is. Some dogs improve in a few sessions, while others need longer follow-up. At the first appointment, I will give you an estimate that fits your situation.
Do I need to be there during the sessions?
Yes, it is essential. Training is mostly about teaching the owner to understand and communicate with their dog. I guide you so that you can carry on the work effectively day to day.
Do you offer group walks or group classes?
Yes, group training walks are organised regularly. They let us work on socialisation, self-control around other dogs and managing emotions, in a supervised setting.
Does training depend more on the dog or the owner?
The two are linked, but the work is mostly done with the owner. A dog adapts to its environment and to the rules it is given. The aim of the sessions is therefore to teach you to understand your dog and to respond well in everyday situations.
Are some dogs impossible to train?
No, but some need more time, patience and adaptation. Age, background, breed, temperament and environment all play an important part. With a consistent method and regular work, the situation can always be improved.
How long does a training session last?
A session usually lasts about an hour. That is long enough to work effectively without tiring the dog or the owner, while taking the time to explain the exercises and the principles behind them.
Do you also do behaviour rehabilitation?
Yes. I work with dogs showing more complex behaviours: aggression, fear, reactivity, anxiety, resource guarding, social difficulties… In these cases, the work is gradual and always adapted to the dog's pace.
Do you also do socialisation with other dogs?
Yes, when it is useful. Training walks and controlled set-ups can be offered to work on sociability, managing emotions and behaviour around other dogs.
